Record number of visitors at Austria’s largest vehicle fleet event

Record number of visitors at Austria’s largest vehicle fleet event

7 June 2017 marked the day: The FLEET convention, at Vienna’s Hofburg, opened its doors to over 670 visitors in order to update them on the current and future challenges of fleet management. Under the premise of “the way to the future begins here”, ALD Automotive was once again represented as an exhibitor this year and was delighted to see the number of visitors at the stand.

20 top speakers, 47 exhibitors and 385 minutes of accumulated vehicle fleet knowledge – the encouraging result of the 3rd FLEET convention in Vienna which set a new record with over 670 visitors. In addition to examples of best practice, the focus of this year’s specialist event was on the opportunities and risks of digitalisation and changing urban mobility.

For example, the Managing Director of TÜV-Austria-Automotive, Christian Rötzer, brought up the topics of “e-fleet” and “new mobility” and highlighted the savings potential of electric cars in his lecture. Managing Director of Dolphin Technologies, Harald Trautsch, spoke about the networked car in the vehicle fleet while ÖAMTC Director of Association, Olivier Schmerold, provided an interesting insight into the future of urban mobility. A topic that was hotly discussed in the subsequent panel discussion. Axel Schäfer, Managing Director of the German Vehicle Fleet Association, concluded the programme by pointing out what vehicle fleet managers can learn from elephants, thus ensuring a comical conclusion. More detailed information as well as the lectures for further reading can be found at www.fleetconvention.at

ALD Automotive Sales Director Mag. (FH) Edith Schatzinger-Langer seemed happy with the event overall: “We have been an exhibitor since the beginning. The FLEET convention is therefore one of the most important networking events of the year for us and, once again this year, gave us the opportunity to see many familiar faces and to make new contacts as well.”
