May we introduce? Goran Maric, the new Sales Director at ALD Automotive Austria

We are pleased about a new addition to our sales team in January 2019. Goran Maric (41) has been appointed Sales Director. In his new role, the successful manager will be responsible for sales, customer support and new customer acquisition. Before moving to ALD Automotive, he gained extensive experience at ARVAL and Alphabet Austria, amongst other places, where his last post was as a member of the management board responsible for sales and marketing. We are delighted that we were able to convince Goran Maric to join us. Listen to what he has to say in our short interview.

Hello Mr. Maric and welcome to ALD Automotive. What attracted you about the job of Sales Director?  

Thank you. The post of Sales Director per se is not a new one for me. Nevertheless, I am just as enthusiastic about it as I was on the very first day. What I love most of all is working together with people. Almost everyone who works in sales is extremely motivated and wants to make a difference. They work single-mindedly and can also cope with a defeat, for example, if they lose a customer. Having this sort of person around you and being able to give them something back is a great incentive. I am surrounded by just such employees at ALD Automotive. It’s something I noticed in the first few days. 

So why ALD Automotive? 

I have been working in this sector for more than ten years. So obviously I am familiar with the name ALD Automotive. After all, the company is one of the most successful and innovative in the world in this industry. You’d be a fool to refuse the opportunity to work for ALD Automotive. So I am really pleased to be part of the team.

Which goals have you set yourself for the future?

My goal is to continue to write the success story of ALD Automotive Austria. ALD Automotive has enjoyed above-average growth in Austria every year from the outset. This growth is due primarily to the high quality of its services. Our independence from specific brands means we can provide our customers with the best advice without any conflict of interests. Every company and every fleet of vehicles is unique. I am convinced that we will be able to continue to score with our customers by means of customised solutions. There can thus only be one medium- to long-term goal: we want to become the No. 1 on the Austrian market. 

Where do you see the biggest potential for growth at ALD Automotive? 

We are in the lucky position in Austria in that we are not operating in a saturated market. We hereby trust in innovative solutions combined with high quality service. If we want to continue to grow at an above-average rate, we will have to not only satisfy, but exceed our customers’ expectations. This is something we are working on constantly.
What’s more, we want to expand the private customer sector this year with our brand new offer of “Private Rent”. This is an all-inclusive solution for private customers who want to lease their dream car for a fixed monthly instalment. This includes servicing, tyres, insurance and much more. I believe that this is where the biggest potential for growth lies in the coming years!

Mr. Maric, to finish on a light note: do you want to let us in on a secret?

[laughs] That’s a tricky question! Because a secret wouldn’t be a secret anymore if I were to tell everyone about it. But there is one thing I can reveal: the first football jersey I was given was one of Austria Wien. Even though at that time I played football for the juniors from Rapid Wien.
