The Kindertraum Foundation has been making the dearest wishes of children and young people with disabilities or serious illnesses come true for the past 20 years. And as in previous years, it was a matter very close to our own hearts to support the non-profit organisation again this year with a donation. Thanks to a cargo bike with an electric motor, we have made little Yella’s wish come true for more mobility in her daily life.
Mobility and independence – two things that a lot of people take for granted. But restricted mobility is one of the biggest daily challenges for a number of families. Like 10-year-old Yella and her parents. A long-cherished wish of theirs has now come true. Thanks to the new cargo bike with plenty of stowage space including a bench seat and front access, Yella is now flexible and mobile at all times. But the real highlight is that the three-wheel bike is also fitted with an electric motor so that there is nothing to stand in the way of even longer trips, for example to school or therapy appointments.
“We are delighted that we have been able to make yet another heartfelt wish come true this year together with the Kindertraum Foundation. The organisation’s social commitment is remarkable. This is something that is firmly anchored in our own philosophy, which is why we are happy to help out,” says ALD Automotive CEO Martin Kössler.
The non-profit organisation ‘Kindertraum’ Foundation provides help and assistance where the parents of the affected children and young people lack the necessary financial and organisational means. The private foundation has not just been helping the families for more than two decades, it also gives the little ones among us courage, hope and a zest for life. It was able to realise 160 individual wishes and 35 group projects in 2018 alone.
